The Astoria 6.5” Kiln Fired Glass Bowl
Astoria Oregon - the oldest town in Oregon inspired this creation. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River where it meets the Pacific ocean. Named after John Jacob Astor who founded the town and the Pacific Fur Company in 1811. This bowl offers a rich palate of purples, sapphires and deep reds producing a stunning symphony of color performance. Also noted - this glass contains an abundance of 24k gold to produce these colors. As compared to other glass, it is three times the cost to produce because of the gold content. Each piece produces slight variations of streaky color splash. All my glass material is produced in the USA and handcrafted in my Washington State glass studio. No two pieces will be the same.
Check out our cold work production video.
The bowl size is 6.5” wide by 3” deep. Each piece is signed and numbered.
